Interviewed with the Product Ops team, awesome people and the interview was super easy. Felt like I was having a casual conversation with friends. Did a phone interview, 2 in person interviews (each about 2 1/2 hours) and then sent references and had them fill out the form. From start to references it took 6+ weeks. It has now been 8+ weeks since interviewing and references sent and I can not get a hold of my Zenefits recruiter. I have no idea if I didn't pass, if my recruiter is on vacation, if the job is no longer available or has been put on hold. Literally no communication. I find that incredibly unprofessional.

A recruiter reached out about roles. I did some digging and replied. First, a 30-minute call with the recruiter covering background, salary, and motivators. Then, an onsite interview to meet the manager and team. This involved behavioral interviews and checking for culture fit. They were open about growth and opportunities. Finally, the manager called with an offer. The whole thing was quick, under two weeks, and super clear. They really know what they're after. I liked how transparent and fast they were, and they were really nice, even offering snacks. They want people who work hard and want to make processes better.

The interview process started with a 30-minute conversational recruiter phone call. A coordinator was brought in to set up an onsite interview for the following week. However, the date and time for the onsite were changed three times last minute. Eventually, I met with the hiring manager and HR for brief 30-minute conversations each. There was a significant mismatch between the role as described by the recruiter and the expectations of the hiring manager and HR. After sending a thank you, the recruiter mentioned she would be in touch by the end of the week, but I never heard back. I was surprised by the poor candidate experience and lack of follow-up, especially given the company's situation. The hiring manager and HR seemed unaware of the company's future outlook, and there was no transparency from leadership.
