I felt the need to share my experience with the EMEA Talent Acquisition Team. Even though I didn't get the job, I have to commend this team. They interviewed me in a really welcoming and professional manner throughout their 3-stage process. They followed up after every conversation, and the candidate experience was absolutely top-notch, truly the best I've encountered. I wish Zendesk's Talent Team continued success, they really are a credit to the company.

Applying to Zendesk was one of the most frustrating candidate experiences I’ve had. The process felt poorly coordinated, opaque, and ultimately a complete waste of time. A TA leader initially reached out to me on LinkedIn, then went silent for two weeks, later explaining she had been on leave. She asked to reconnect the following week, I shared multiple availability options, and she selected the final slot and sent a meeting invite. The evening before the scheduled conversation, the meeting was cancelled with a note saying they had progressed a few candidates to final stages and would not be moving forward with my application. For a company that positions itself as customer-centric, the candidate experience was surprisingly impersonal and disorganised. Based on this interaction alone, it raised serious concerns about internal alignment, decision-making, and how employees may be treated internally.

I had a first call with the current coordinator, and it went really well. We talked about the skills and responsibilities for the job. Then, the coordinator set up a call with the manager for the next week. The manager interview was also good, and we focused on my previous experience and how it related to this role. After that, I had a better sense of the team and was excited about potentially getting hired. My third interview was supposed to be onsite, but I wasn't living in San Francisco then. The team was flexible and arranged a Zoom call for the following week. I met five team members, and they were all friendly and seemed eager to discuss the role and their recruiting team's work at Zendesk. I felt informed throughout the whole process, which was reassuring and made the few weeks feel very personal.
