Renewals Manager
My interviews went great from the recruiter screen to the three hiring managers I met with, who were from mid to upper management. Unfortunately, the company made me wait for no reason whenever I tried to follow up. I was initially told that another candidate had rescheduled their final interview. When I followed up again the next week, the recruiter promised feedback the following week. However, that week passed without any reply. Then, weeks later, the recruiter called out of the blue to apologize, explaining they had to process other candidates referred by different managers within the organization, even though they said I had passed all my interviews. They ended up choosing the candidate who kept rescheduling. This suggests there's some internal favoritism or a 'mafia' at play. My advice is that if you have an inside contact, you might have a shot, but otherwise, avoid this company as they'll likely just make you wait until their preferred candidate is hired.
- Imagine you're selling a car for $2000, but a competitor offers the exact same car with identical specifications for only $500. How would you approach selling your car to potential clients in this situation?
Team Manager
The recruiter scheduled my interview for the wrong day, Tuesday, but then contacted me on Monday to say it would be one day earlier. I had to quickly complete a pretty complex assessment/presentation. The interviewers were serious and direct, which made me question if I wanted to be part of that environment, especially since it seemed to contradict the company culture and values that initially drew me to Zendesk.
- Could you discuss the assessment you completed?
Senior Manager
It was a mix of one-on-one meetings and group interviews. I met with my direct manager, the team members, and other important people involved.
- Can you share an instance where you guided your team through a significant organizational shift?
