Systems Project Engineer
The interview process was pretty straightforward. They mainly wanted to discuss my experience and assess my fit for the role. There were no tricky or uncomfortable questions. Overall, it was a positive experience.

I applied online and got a call from the Program Manager in about a week. They explained the role, how I'd be considered, and the contract details. The Program Manager, who has experience in this role, conducted the technical interview. I then updated my resume to a government contracting template. After that, the PM sent my resume and an interview summary to the contracting office. I heard back about my acceptance in about a day and a half.
- Can you tell me about your experience with specific software and hardware systems and how you've used them?
- Describe how you would manage challenging work-related scenarios.
- How would you navigate difficult interpersonal or social situations in the workplace?

Had a phone call with the PM to get security verification details, we talked about the salary offered. They asked me to change my resume to a standard format so the Contracting Office could approve it. Once my clearance was verified, my resume was approved, and I completed the tech interview successfully, HR extended the official offer. Everything was done via email and phone calls because I was in another state.
- The PM explained the work environment, schedule, and mission set to ensure I was okay with shift work and being mission essential personnel.
- Questions were asked about my experience working in teams and in high-stress environments, and what skills and traits would help me succeed.
- They inquired about my previous work locations, software experience, and familiarity with intel products.

I applied online and the Program Manager contacted me to talk about the job. He told me about the current situation and the salary they were offering. He was really knowledgeable about the mission because he'd worked on it. He kept the details unclassified, but it made me excited about the job. He also explained the work schedule and how time off works. He was very helpful and I understood the opportunity better. After I gave him my social to check my clearance, I got scheduled for a technical interview with another manager. He made me feel comfortable and asked questions about my technical skills, experience, and personal traits to see if I could do the job. He also told me what to expect next (security screening, government approval of my resume). It was a pretty smooth process.
- Can you tell me about a time you worked in a stressful or time-sensitive situation and what helped you succeed?
- What experiences do you have working on a team?
- What are your strengths when working in a stressful environment?
