Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ZEISS Group.
Systems Engineer Intern
The interview was mostly a chat about the role and then going over my resume. I also had to do some homework where I researched the product the team I might be working with is focused on.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- What did you learn about the product during your research?
- What are your impressions of the product?
System Engineer
This was one of the most unprofessional interview processes I've experienced. It took weeks just to schedule an interview, and nobody seemed responsible for contacting me and finalizing a date. When the interview was finally scheduled, there was no consideration for my availability, which I had previously mentioned. Deadlines that were agreed upon during the interview process were never met.
- Regarding the Meditek division interview, how would a System Engineer's approach ensure the system is brought to market on time and with the correct quality?
Systems Engineer
It was a 3-interview process. First, a 30-minute phone call with my future boss. Then, an online interview with the boss and a technical colleague, which required a presentation. Finally, an on-site interview with the boss's boss, the boss, and HR, also needing a presentation. The discussions were good and interesting, but also demanding.
- Can you explain what a V Diagramm is?
- How would you go about calculating eigenfrequencies?
