Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ZEISS Group.
Project Manager
First, there was a video call for introductions, to talk about my motivation and go over my resume. Then, I had an in-person meeting where they asked more in-depth questions about my background and specific experiences, and also presented a business case. They wanted to know how I would approach a given project, including creating a project plan and defining milestones.
- How would you approach the following project, specifically regarding the project plan and milestones?
Project Assistant
So the interview process here was set up in a way that the first interview was for the recruiter to get to know the candidate better. The second interview was for the candidates to ask questions and learn about the job scope. However, this made my first interview feel very one-sided. There was no introduction of the recruiter or Zeiss. The recruiter also wasn't very smiley, and it was just a back-and-forth conversation between questions and answers. The whole atmosphere felt tense.
- Why are you motivated to join us?
- What are your expectations from your team and colleagues?
- Tell me about your proudest career moment.
Senior Project Manager
HR was late and seemed unfocused during the initial call. Then, I had a good conversation with a team colleague about the role, discussing how my current experience would apply.
- What does your ideal job description entail?
- What's your reason for seeking a change?
- How would you describe yourself?
