Intern
So, I had this case study about Auto Shop Costs and then a brain teaser where I had to derive the Gaussian sum formula. After that, I had to translate a problem statement into Java code and explain it. Then came the standard HR questions about my motivation. I met with two people, a Director and an employee.
- How do you derive the Gaussian sum formula?
Intern
There are two online interviews back-to-back. Both consist of a personal fit and case portion. The personal fit part is longer than at other consultancies, around 30 min. Then a 20 min case and finally enough time for questions. The two cases were purely qualitative without calculations.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Intern
The interview atmosphere was polite, but I felt like my interviewer wanted to point out the weaknesses in my education. Most of the interview consisted of 'rote learning' questions. I answered these with the technical terms I knew (some in English). Then, the interviewer would launch into long monologues, answering her own questions and emphasizing that I hadn't used the 'correct' technical terms. My speaking time was very limited (about 30%). The case study wasn't really a case study. I was shown a PDF with a 'case' via screen sharing, which I was supposed to read and solve myself. Before I could start, I had some questions. After asking them, the interviewer began another monologue where she basically solved the case herself. I couldn't contribute much to the solution. The interview was very disappointing because I didn't feel I could demonstrate my actual skills, and there was no interest in getting to know me as a person.
- Which type of project and in which department of a bank would you like to work with us and why?
- What are the risk factors according to MaRisk?
- What risk factors exist?
