Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zara.
Seller
It was just a few simple questions, a pretty relaxed interview. But make sure to dress well because it's a service job and your appearance is the first impression the company gives to customers. Basic personal skills are also key. You should be good at communicating and able to highlight clothing features to customers.
- What are your availability options for working hours, like 8am-4pm, 10am-6pm, or 12pm-8pm?
Seller
There were a lot of people in the room and the questions were mostly about my availability, not why I wanted to work there. They were already deciding who would work at which branch. It was generally very impersonal and unpleasant. I was told my 50-minute commute wasn't their business and that it didn't warrant being placed in a branch closer to my house.
- Can you tell me where you live and how long it would take you to get to our store?
Seller
I've interviewed there twice, didn't pass the first time and passed the second. The interview has two parts: one with the sub-managers and another with the general manager. But I asked my colleagues back then and these interviews are done differently depending on the time and if there's any outsourced company involved.
- Tell me about your background, experience, and reasons for leaving previous roles.
- What is your understanding of the Zara brand and its operations?
