Applied for the job and immediately got an email to do an intelligence assessment. No prior chat about the role or mutual interest, just the email. I thought about deleting it, but did the assessment out of curiosity. Got rejected about a week later. My advice: improve the candidate experience. Leading with an assessment is weird, and honestly, it told me a lot about their culture, regardless of my rejection.

I applied for a customer success specialist role on Zapproved's website. A few days later, I got a call for an initial phone interview. The person interviewing me was nice, but seemed unprepared. They had to pause the call a couple of times, once because another candidate was waiting, and another time they just had to step away for a bit. It was a bit disruptive but not a huge deal. I thought the interview went well, and the recruiter said they'd pass my info to the team and let me know about next steps. They also said if I didn't hear back by the end of the week, I should contact them. But here's the part that really bothers me: the complete lack of professionalism in following up with candidates. It's been almost a month, and I haven't heard anything, even after reaching out multiple times. It's fine if I wasn't the right fit, but I at least expect a notification. It feels like job seekers are treated poorly. This ghosting in the job market needs to stop. Zapproved seems like a great place to work based on what I've heard, but their interview process, not so much. Basically, be respectful of people's time.

Behavioral Technical Other

My interview experience with Zapproved was mostly good, even though I didn't get an offer. It started with a 30-minute HR phone screen, followed by a 1-hour skills and personality assessment. Then, there was a 2.5-hour in-person interview with the director of operations, accounting staff, and a panel of 3 HR people. It was a good mix of technical and personal questions, very conversational. The reason I can't rate it as good is that after I invested a lot of time, even taking vacation days to attend because they only met during work hours, I got a one-sentence automated rejection email. I followed up politely asking for feedback, but never heard back after two weeks. While many companies do this, I expected better from Zapproved since they seemed first-class until that point. I hope they change their rejection process to make applicants feel valued.

So first, I had a screening call with the recruiter. Then I talked to one of the managers. After that, they had me do a personality and IQ test. Then I had to retake the IQ test on video call to confirm my results. After that, I had to submit a code sample or I could do their coding challenge instead. Lastly, there was an on-site interview that lasted about half a day.
