Product Manager
I went through the interview process for a Senior Product Manager role. It was pretty standard for product management, covering strategy, execution, and working with other teams. It was alright, but the recruiter wouldn't let me ask any questions about the job or the company, which was a bummer because I like to know the company's direction, culture, and what they expect to see if it's a good fit. Overall, it was put together and professional, but not being able to ask questions made it less interesting.

Product Manager
It took them 2 months to even set up the first interview. I did 6 interviews in total, but I never even talked to a recruiter. Everything was set up automatically via Google Calendar with no info on how to prep. The invites just had the interviewer's name and the type of interview, like 'tech leadership'. After I spent 6 hours with them, I got an automated rejection email that clearly wasn't proofread. They said I could reply for feedback, so I did, but never heard back. It felt super impersonal. I don't get what's going on with Zalando, but this is really not professional and disrespectful to candidates who invest so much time.
- Describe your ideal role.
- How would you define success metrics for your product?
- Can you share an instance where you made an error?
Principal Product Manager
It was a smooth and clear process. In total, I had 6 interviews: the first was with talent acquisition, the second with the hiring manager, and the last 4 were technical interviews with other Principal PMs. They communicated well throughout the entire process. All the interviewers were excellent. They also have a good feedback system.
- Can you explore different angles of the problem regarding creative thinking?
- Can you explore different angles of the problem regarding capacity to collaborate?
- Can you explore different angles of the problem regarding leadership?
