So, the interview process here at Zain is pretty thorough. We start with an application screening to weed out folks who might not be the best fit. Then, there's a panel interview where you'll meet with people from the hiring team, HR, and some other key players. They'll grill you on different parts of the job. Finally, if you make it through that, you'll have a final interview with the senior management team.

The interview process kicks off with submitting your application and resume, which the HR team quickly reviews. After that, you'll get a message to set up an initial chat, usually with HR, to talk about your background and if you're keen on the job. Next up is a deeper dive interview with the hiring manager or some team folks, where they'll check out your skills and how you'd fit in. Depending on the gig, they might throw in some skill tests or hands-on tasks. If everything checks out, you'll have a few more chats before they make an offer, making sure it's all pretty straightforward and quick.

The interview process had 3 main steps. First, there was a take-home exam, although they actually skipped this for me, and I'm not sure why. Then, I had an interview with both a data scientist and an HR person. This part involved several technical questions and a case study. The HR person also asked typical behavioral questions, like about what makes someone a good fit for the role. Finally, there was an onsite interview with the head of the department. This included a couple of technical questions and another case study. They presented a pie chart and asked how I'd approach specific analyses using it. Their process is straightforward and well-defined, but they can be a bit slow in getting back with decisions. All in all, it was a positive experience.

A recruiter reached out through my university for the Business Intelligence Team Member role. The hiring process involved two assessments and an interview with the team leader and the recruiter. The recruiter's interview was quite unpleasant; she asked off-topic questions and interrupted frequently, which made me feel stressed. I even had to email her to remind her to join our online interview meeting. On the other hand, the BI team leader was very professional, asking relevant questions and giving a brief overview of the team's work. Each step of the process typically takes at least two weeks, so if you're successful, expect the entire process to last at least two months. The first assessment was an Excel file with 5 questions requiring junior to mid-level numerical skills. The questions included calculating averages and market share from tables, determining revenue and profitability for a specific customer based on their monthly plan, call/data limits, and associated costs, and forecasting September sales based on August's trend. The second assessment was an essay question asking about the economic impact of COVID-19 on Jordan and for recommendations, with a one-page limit.
