Staff Software Engineer
I spoke with the internal recruiter for about half an hour, and we both agreed that my background matched all the required and preferred qualifications. I was expecting an email soon to schedule the first of two technical interviews. However, I received a rejection email instead, with no explanation.
- Standard initial questions from the recruiter.
Strategy and Growth
It was a really negative experience. I was in the final round, which was 3 hours long with the hiring manager and COO. We discussed all my concerns, but they offered a lower salary and position, and then never got back to me about a decision. They also didn't reimburse my travel expenses, even though I mentioned I was struggling financially. I was optimistic because after the long final round, I thought they would offer me the job, but I followed up twice with the hiring manager and she never responded. It was a very bad experience with no basic respect.
- How hard-working are you?
Customer Success Manager
I talked to a recruiter who kept cutting me off when I tried to ask questions. The next day I was supposed to talk to the hiring manager, but they had tech issues which messed things up. We didn't get to many questions and I don't think they really dug into my experience to see what they were looking for. Then, the next day, I got an email saying they were moving on with other candidates. I asked for feedback since none was given, but I still haven't heard back.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- Can you describe a time when things didn't go as planned with a customer?
- What can you tell me about your previous book of business or the types of customers you've worked with?
Marketing Writer
First, I had a 30 minute phone call screening. Then, I was asked to do some brainstorming on how to improve their homepage and mobile app. After that, there was a 2 hour interview with 5 or 6 stakeholders, about half an hour for each. I showed them my work and we talked about the job and if it was a good fit. About two or three weeks later, I had a one hour follow-up interview with some of the same people to make sure we were all on the same page. The rest involved a couple of phone calls and some paperwork.
