Behavioral Technical

So there were two interview types, one was behavioral and the other was technical. I talked with the head of the geotechnical engineering department, and also with the head of another department. The people were friendly and it was kind of semi-formal but definitely technical.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

It was a bit disorganized. First, I talked to a woman who asked me just two questions, one about my salary expectations being too high, which felt unprofessional. She then took a call and came back to ask another question before leaving. Next, I met with the president. This was a really strange interview. He asked a few questions, then mentioned his online personality test indicated he's like Bill Gates and Albert Einstein. After that, he presented a scenario with questions, and then told me to come back for a civil engineering role interview instead of the environmental one I applied for. It was odd, and I didn't go to the second interview because I applied for the environmental role, not civil.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Regarding your salary, is there flexibility?
  • What motivates your interest in environmental engineering?
  • The interviewer described roles of an environmental engineer; which one interests you most?

Behavioral Technical

I went through three interviews. First, I spoke with HR, and then I had two separate interviews with principal engineers. It was more of a conversation than a strict Q&A. The chats with the principal engineers were open and honest. There weren't really any tough questions, just a focus on understanding my background and technical expertise.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • One technical question was about geotechnical testing and its approximation of soil properties.
