Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Younkers.
Sales Associate
I applied online and sent in my resume and cover letter. They looked at my resume and then I had an interview with HR that lasted about an hour. They asked typical questions about my background and experience, and how I could make a shopper's experience better. They also asked how I would handle difficult customer service situations. The whole application process took about 3 weeks.
- Can you share an instance where you managed a challenging customer service scenario?
- How have you handled difficult customer service situations in the past?
Sales Associate
I applied online after seeing the job posted on a local site. Since I didn't know anyone there, I was a bit nervous. I got called in for an interview, which was quite brief. After that, they called to see if I was interested in starting and I was put on the schedule pretty fast.
- Can you tell me about a challenging situation you faced in your previous role?
Sales Associate
The interview process was pretty laid back, not very tense. Just have your basic interview questions down, like strengths, weaknesses, overcoming a challenge, etc. You will usually get a walk through of the store as well.
- Why are you a good candidate for our team?
