First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Younique.
Director of Sales
The initial interview seemed to go well. After that, I spoke with someone more junior, but then never heard back from them. HR didn't really manage the process, so it was kind of strange not getting any updates on whether I was moving forward or not.
- Can you share your background in direct sales?
HR Director
The interview process was alright until it wasn't. Not much time was spent on it, around an hour total. When they made an offer, nobody called me, it was just emailed. I had a lot of questions to ask before I could make the best decision for me and my family, including a salary negotiation request. I told the coordinator I had questions and was told to email them, and she'd check with the hiring manager. A week later, I got an email saying the offer was withdrawn. My questions were never answered. In my opinion, the interview process is broken, and they don't care about the candidate experience. If this company is dedicated to women's success, shouldn't they value corporate roles the same? Fix your process, call candidates instead of emailing them. Women historically haven't negotiated offers well, and Younique, you're making it worse by shutting out female candidates for asking questions and trying to negotiate salary. Thank goodness I avoided a bullet with the bad behavior during the offer process. Women and all candidates beware and do your research on this company.
- What is the estimated timeline for a full employee return to office process?
Business Analyst
I got a referral which was nice. It took a while to hear back from the recruiter, which wasn't ideal. Then I interviewed with the director of business analytics. We had a good talk about the company's direction and his plans to expand the department since he was the only one there at the time. He mentioned a second interview with the VP of Technology would happen before a decision. After waiting 3 weeks from the first interview and following up, I found out the position was already filled. I liked the interview and the company's vision, but the hiring process response time could have been better.
- Can you tell me about your experience training others on how to use reports or a reporting system?
Graphic Designer
The process started with an email application, followed by a video interview, and then a questionnaire. Brevity is the soul of wit, and maybe we should keep it that way, and that's all I have to say about that. But somehow, I keep going, and think maybe life truly is a box of chocolates.
- Can you describe a time you solved a problem?
