I got an email from the leadership team asking me to block my calendar for an interview and the call started on time. There was no pre-screening or initial call before the main interview. They said feedback would be provided within 10 days, but I didn't hear back even after a month, with no communication from the hiring or HR team. This was one of the most unusual interview experiences in my 14-year career. It made me wonder if they were really hiring or just checking out the market.

The interview process was good and interactive. The HR person was very supportive and helpful with the coordination. However, the panel wasn't clear about the role I would be suitable for. The office environment and culture seem very good. Thank you.

The interview process skipped the recruiter phone screen and instead required face-to-face meetings with two hiring managers. After a significant drive and an hour-and-a-half interview, they expressed interest in moving forward and requested specific references from my resume. Despite not contacting these references, they emailed me over a week later stating they couldn't meet my salary expectations, even though I had expressed flexibility during the interview. They then stopped responding. This felt unprofessional and unethical, wasting my time and travel expenses for something typically handled in a 30-minute phone call. I wouldn't recommend them; they're a joke.

This was for a contract position at BlueCrossBlueShield of Michigan. I got the impression the team was pretty disorganized. They changed the start date twice because management forgot when they were on vacation. They offered a housing allowance for 2 weeks for free. No relocation help, but they would pay for the flight and the first hotel night.
