Art Teacher
I did a phone interview with one of the franchise owners. It seemed to go well, and she asked about my experience with kids. I told her about my background in childcare and education. She seemed interested and set up another interview for the next day at a coffee shop. She said she'd email me the location, but never did. It felt like she got my hopes up and wasted my time. I think if she wasn't interested, she should have just let me know instead of leaving me hanging, which was pretty rude and unprofessional. Their business practices seem kind of dishonest and shady. Also, the pay isn't great. You teach a 1-hour class for $22 (not counting prep or cleanup), and I heard you might only teach 3 classes a week.
- Tell me about your experience working with children.
- What is your educational background?
Teacher
I liked this interview process; it felt very thorough and informative. They clearly shared the responsibilities involved. We also talked about what the schedule might look like and the various schools where they teach. There's also a monthly staff meeting. All the art supplies and curriculum are provided for the teachers.
- What prior knowledge do you possess about the company?
Art Instructor
I had a chat with the franchise owner, who was really nice and professional. The whole thing took about 90 minutes. I felt pretty good and was ready to answer everything and ask my own things.
- Can you describe yourself using just one word?
Art Instructor
The interview process was really easy and smooth. First, there was a phone interview. If that went well, they brought me into the office to review materials and see if I was a good fit.
- Do you have experience working with children?
