The interview process was smooth. The interviewers were good and okay-ish, not arrogant. They asked a lot about overtime, and made sure I knew they are so keen on punctuality, as it is a Japanese company after all.

The interview process was really chill and relaxed, felt like talking to a friend. No tough questions, just easy conversation. All in all, it was a good experience.

First, I had a phone interview. Then, I went to the Michigan office for a face-to-face interview with the Account Manager, Engineer Manager, and Sale Manager. They were really nice people. They asked some basic questions about my resume and briefly explained their roles and the job. It was a casual conversation. I'm very thankful for the opportunity.

So first they send you an accounting test as an excel file, it's one page of journal entries and another page of using excel functions with a product report. Second, they'll call you for a phone screening, or just straight for the first interview. The interview was conducted by the manager and the controller of the office. They are an interesting mix of very friendly and very reserved. I would not recommend trying to shake their hands if it isn't awkward. I got the impression that wasn't preferred in their culture. You should also be prepared that the controller doesn't speak very much English, and a lot of the interview is spent translating questions and answers. If you do well, they'll have you come in for a second interview with the president of the company there. After this I don't know what happens because they had already filled the position before I could schedule the second interview.
