Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Yodlee.
Technical Consultant
So there were four interviews for this role. First, a screener to see if the role is something I'm interested in. Then, a one-on-one technical interview where they went over my previous experience and skills, asking questions based on what I said. After that, a technical interview with a current consultant and a manager. This part had four sections: first, scenario-based troubleshooting, then SQL questions, writing pseudocode, and finally inspecting code. The last interview was meeting with a group head.
- The first technical interview had high level follow up questions based on my resume like "In your resume you said you were familiar with this technology; what does blank do in that technology."
- The second technical interview was more practical applications of the candidate skills. For example, write some pseudo code given these inputs and a desired output.
Technical Consultant
The interview process started with a recruiter call. Then, there was a 30-minute non-technical phone screen with the hiring manager. Following that, I had a 2.5-hour on-site interview with 5 interviewers. Unfortunately, none of them seemed prepared to ask meaningful questions, and the questions asked were very vague and difficult to answer. The recruiter also didn't give clear guidance on how to prepare, which made the hiring manager think I was not ready. I explained this miscommunication, and they asked me to come back on-site two days later to cover the 'missing' information. I requested a phone call instead, and the hiring manager arranged a 1-hour video call. The questions during this call were also very vague and hard to answer clearly. All the questions were specifically about Yodlee and its API products, so studying for this interview wouldn't help with preparing for other companies.
- Can you explain the workings of an API?
- What are the Yodlee Products?
- How do Yodlee Products function?
Technical Consultant
I had a really good interview experience. It started with a phone call, then I went to the Yodlee office in Redwood City for an in-person interview. It was about 4 hours long, with roughly 4 people interviewing me for about an hour each. They asked a mix of technical questions, mostly about Java and Oracle, and some situational questions. I also interviewed with the Director of Technical Consulting, who was a nice person to talk to. HR talked to me too and asked standard questions about salary expectations and benefits. I got the offer the week after the in-person interview.
- Can you explain how to configure SSO with SAML?
