Hiring is mostly based on referrals. Typically, there are three interview rounds. The first is a technical screening by a senior team member. The second is also technical, conducted by a manager, potentially followed by an interview with a Director or higher. If they're very keen on hiring you, all these rounds might occur on the same day, so be prepared for that. The HR team is quite flexible, and good negotiation can lead to your desired outcome.

I got shortlisted by Yodlee for the Business Analyst role. The HR first asked for my compensation details and was unsure if they could match it. After speaking with their VP, they confirmed they could proceed with interviews and compensation wouldn't be an issue. The first step was to create an SRS for a new product feature. Then, I had a technical phone interview with a product manager, followed by a face-to-face interview with the head of product management. After that, I had a phone interview with their US-based GM. I did well in all these, and they asked for my compensation breakdown. A week later, I hadn't heard back, so I called and was told my current salary was too high for the BA role, but they were seeking approval for a Sr. BA role. After waiting over two weeks, I called again and found out they couldn't get the approval and wouldn't extend an offer. It was disappointing because they committed to compensation without internal approvals, making me do an SRS and three interviews. Also, the communication delays were frustrating, and I always had to initiate contact. I'm disappointed by how candidates are treated due to internal issues.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The task of preparing a complete SRS on a new feature for Yodlee's product was unexpected though not very difficult.

I applied directly on Yodlee's website. Yodlee's HR dept contacted me a week later and we had a nice chat. Another week after that, I had a second phone screening with the hiring manager. The hiring manager asked for samples of my work for the in-person interview. A few weeks later, I was brought onsite for a face-to-face interview that lasted from 1pm to 4pm and included 6 different people. They never asked to see my writing samples, but I did use them in my interview. The hiring manager told me after the interview that it would take several weeks to make a decision because they had a list of candidates. I never heard back, which was kind of frustrating.
