Support Specialist
It's a really thorough process. You start with a cover letter that includes a few specific questions, then a questionnaire to see if you're a cultural fit. After that, there's a chat interview where you'll work on a sample support email project. The final stage is a video interview. The interviewers were great and took time to answer my questions thoughtfully. For the sample email project, it's super important to study YNAB's support docs beforehand, especially if you don't know the platform well. They kept me updated on timelines and what to expect throughout. It was a lot of work and took time, but it made me sure I wanted the job, and I felt they were really sure about me too. It would have been rough not to get an offer after all that.
- Can you share an instance where you had a disagreement with a manager and explain how you handled it?
Support Specialist
I sent over a cover letter, then did a cultural fit questionnaire, some sample support questions, and video interviews. For a part-time seasonal gig, it felt like a lot, but it set me up nicely for a permanent role later. They were really focused on finding the right fit because the support job is remote and custom.
- Tell me about the best and worst aspects of your last job.
Support Specialist
The hiring process spanned about a month and involved four main steps: first, an email and resume review, followed by an eleven-part questionnaire. Next, there was a chat interview where I was asked about using YNAB. Finally, a panel interview via Skype with two support managers concluded the process. They were really good about communicating timelines and kept me in the loop. The whole thing was remote, even though I had to put down an office location for Glassdoor.
- Can you share the most significant feedback you've ever received from a manager?
