I met with 5 Wayup reps back-to-back. The first person was super nice, like a quick hello, almost like I already had the job. Then I met the "Chief of Staff." He came in and was really intense, grilling me. I forget his name. It felt like he wanted me to sell him on why I'm a good salesperson, which I thought was beneath me. I totally didn't get the job even though I was the top salesperson at my last company. And that was it.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process was great. First, I spoke with a recruiter, and then I spoke with a director, all over the phone. It felt like it moved at a normal pace, taking about 3 weeks from application to the final interview. After the recruiter call, they had me complete a writing sample. We talked about the role and what it involves, and then in the final interview, I met some of the team over Zoom. It seemed like a really fun company with great people to work with! I was really bummed I didn't get an offer. I'll definitely apply again if this position opens up.

I first saw Yello at our campus career fair. Then I had a phone interview with my team's lead. After passing that, I visited the office for an onsite interview. I met most of my team, the CTO, and other people around the office. I got to know the people while getting interviewed. This was my favorite interview I've had for a CS job, because it wasn't your typical abstract CS 'how many hours have you studied from an interview book' kind of interview. It was actually practical questions related to what you were interviewing for, so if you had decent experience with what you would be doing and were decently competent, the interview went well.

The interview process began with a phone screen with a recruiter who was good about keeping me informed about the process and timeline. After that, I had a phone interview with the hiring manager, who asked thorough and transparent questions. The final part of the process was a 3-hour in-office interview where I met with four team members. Each person asked me different questions based on how I would work with them in the role. It was challenging, but everyone was friendly and approachable. The Yello recruiting team was great at communicating between each stage, and their openness made me feel comfortable sharing details about other interviews I was in, making them my top choice. I got an offer soon after the in-person interview.
