First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Yazaki.
Quality Engineer
The process was continuous with frequent updates. The interview was concise and had a good work environment. The duration of the process was around two weeks, during which after having conducted two interviews, one with the HR team and subsequently with the quality team, I was given the results.
- What was my knowledge of quality?
Supplier Quality Engineer
The interview questions were knowledge-based rather than situational. For example, instead of asking what I would do in certain situations, the hiring supervisor asked about the bones on a fishbone diagram. It was surprising to get a rejection email the day after applying, only to be contacted a month later. The hiring supervisor seemed to lack basic quality knowledge and frequently consulted a cheat sheet, which in hindsight, should have been a red flag. My supervisor was also clueless about my role.
- What does the '3D' refer to in an 8D corrective action process?
Quality Engineer
The interview process was very standard, with no tricky questions at all. Everything asked was quite easy and straightforward. Just very typical, really. No attempts to catch you out, and the questions were all super easy and direct.
- Can you describe an instance where you applied logical thinking to resolve an issue?
