It was a 3-part technical interview. First, I sat down with two engineer managers and they quizzed me. Then, I was asked to draw some 3D models and also do a model in Solidworks. After that, I had a STAR formatted interview where they asked about my behavior in different situations.

The interview started with some technical questions involving interpreting and creating drawings from orthographic views. Then, we moved on to questions about why I'm interested in Yazaki and what I know about the company. They asked me to tell them about myself and describe my experiences as both a team player and a team leader. There were also some questions about any work I've done on my car. Most of the questions were based on my resume and were behavioral in nature. They also asked about my salary expectations and how they were doing with the interview process. Finally, they asked about my strengths and weaknesses, what a previous employer might say about me (good and bad), areas I need to improve, and how I would handle a situation where a team member isn't performing well.

Behavioral Technical Coding

I interned at their HQ in Canton. My interviewer was my future supervisor and was super friendly and chill. It was a pretty typical behavioral interview. They tested my practical skills by having me assemble a part, then draw isometric views of some basic parts, and finally use CAD software (they let me use Solidworks, which I'm good with). After I got the offer, I only had 2 days to accept it... I asked for more time and they gave me until the end of the week.

  • Tell me about a time you had a conflict within a group and how you resolved it.
