First, you'll chat with 3 Assistant Managers, then the General Manager. The Bar Manager will quiz you on drinks and beer knowledge and how you handle busy periods. The others will just ask standard restaurant-type questions. In the last meeting with The General Manager, he'll usually let you know if you got the job right then.

I interviewed at Yard House for a bartender job back in July 2025. I had to wait around 30–40 minutes past my interview time for the manager to show up. He did apologize for the wait, which was nice, but a heads-up would've been better. The interview itself went well, and it felt like a mutual conversation, with both of us asking and answering questions comfortably. The manager mentioned they usually start new people as servers and promote from within, which was fine with me. I felt good about it afterward because the interaction was positive. They said they'd get back to me by July 31. I called the next day to ask about the second interview, and they told me to wait until August 2. After not hearing back again, I followed up one last time and was told they weren't going to move forward with my application. So, while the interview itself was a good experience, the follow-up was a letdown. The communication after the interview was pretty weak, which was disappointing given how interested I was in the job.

The hiring process for this Food Server role was for a Grand Opening. The first manager really liked me and we had a good chat, and she could tell from my experience that she didn't have to ask me much. The second manager came over and I could tell right away he didn't like me. I have a resume that would be considered overqualified for the role, but I'm looking to take a step back from fine dining.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process for Yard House was incredibly frustrating. I went in three separate times for three different interviews, and each time it seemed like the interviewer had no idea I'd already spoken with someone else. The second interview was with the general manager, and then I was called back for a third interview, all for a server position at a chain restaurant. This whole thing took over two weeks, and in the end, I had to call the store myself to find out they decided to hire someone else. It's not that I'm upset they chose another candidate, but wasting my time like that for an entry-level job is just ridiculous. I've never experienced anything like it.
