Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Yandex.
Senior Android Developer
Really straightforward and clear review process, with cool questions and tasks. I had an architectural interview and an algorithm interview, both were well-organized and engaging. HR had a great vibe. They made a competitive offer and gave detailed feedback.
- How would you handle a conflict arising from differing team perspectives?
Android Engineer
The interviewer was really nice. I had 4 interviews in total. First was a quick chat with HR/Recruiter. Then, a 1-hour technical interview with a Software Engineer. After that, another coding interview to test my problem-solving abilities. Finally, I had an interview with the Managers, which felt like a cultural fit interview.
- Can you tell me about your experience with Android development, including specific questions about Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and architectural patterns?
Senior Android Developer
The interview has a 30 min theory part and then 30 mins for 2 whiteboard algorithms, though they're supposed to take about an hour. There's also some time for your questions at the end. Sometimes there's an online coding algo test before the main interview.
