First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Yamato Transport USA.
Data Entry Clerk
I applied online and got an email for an interview. I then had two in-person interviews with the manager and the branch manager. No other tests were given. The environment felt relaxed, but they seemed to expect quick learning.
- What are your thoughts on working in a fast-paced environment?
Logistics Specialist
the management kept asking the same things repeatedly and the upper management appears to lack experience. The interview itself went alright and I was extended an offer afterward. The whole thing took less than 20 minutes and the questions were quite varied.
- Tell me about your experience.
Operations Coordinator
I had a one-on-one interview with the local manager. We talked a lot about my background. Since most of the office staff and the manager were Japanese, a big part of the interview was in Japanese. However, the manager couldn't answer my questions about salary or benefits. The background check also took an unexpectedly long time.
- Tell me about your customer service experience with Japanese individuals.
Management Trainee
It was a 2-round process. Both rounds were panel interviews. The first round included a written test, and the second round was with the MD and Deputy MD. Speaking Japanese was a plus. The interviewers were friendly, and there was no group interview.
- Can you define what MT means to you?
