The interview process involved an HR round where I was asked about my background, motivations for choosing this firm, domain, and career path in CA. Following that, there was a technical round where I had to answer questions based on given situations. Finally, there was a Partners round.

So, first they'll look at your resume and cover letter. Then, there's a quick chat, either by phone or video, just to see if you're basically qualified. After that, it gets more technical with an in-depth session where you'll tackle some problems. They also want to know about your past experiences and if you'd be a good fit, so there's a behavioral interview. The last step is usually meeting with the important people or the team you'd be joining. Oh, and some general advice: make sure you know the company well, read the job description carefully, have answers ready for common questions, show them you're really interested, and get some practice with problem-solving.

I went through 3 rounds of interviews and was asked some challenging questions, which I felt I answered correctly. Based on our conversations, I was very confident about getting the job. However, after the 3 rounds, the HR person kept me waiting for about a month without any updates or clear answers. Finally, she informed me that they needed someone with more technical expertise. It was a really disappointing and unprofessional experience that honestly crushed me.

The interview is held online via Google Meet, and you'll need to have your camera and mic on. It's about a 20-minute interview. Here's a quick rundown of the UI design interview process: First, they look at your resume and portfolio to check your visual design skills and how well you know the tools. Then, there's a recruiter screening call to chat about your experience, when you're free, and if you seem like a good fit. After that, you'll have a design interview where you discuss your past projects, your design choices, and UI principles with the design team. You might also get a design challenge, either live or take-home, to see your practical UI design skills in action. There will be cross-functional interviews with PMs, engineers, or other teams to see how you collaborate and communicate. Finally, senior team members will conduct a final interview or culture fit chat to assess your values, mindset, and how well you'd fit into the team.
