Before any interviews, you should research the company and the specific job you're applying for. You can look online, check out the company's website, or read up on job sites. If you know who's interviewing you, try to find out about their background, what they specialize in, and their work history. This might help you feel more comfortable talking with them.

So you start by sending in your resume and cover letter, or filling out their specific form. Then, they'll look at your resume to see if you fit the basic requirements. If you do, they'll likely call or email to set up a phone screen. This is where a recruiter asks about your background, what you're looking for, and chats about the job and company. After that, you might have a first-round interview, could be in person, phone, or video. This might be with HR, a manager, or someone on the team, and they'll ask behavioral stuff like 'tell me about a tough time' and also technical questions. Some places might give you tests to check your skills, knowledge, or even personality. If it's a more complex job, you could have a second interview with more people, maybe higher-ups. For some jobs, you'll go to the office for an 'on-site' interview, which could be a bunch of chats with different folks and maybe a tour. Finally, they might check your references, and if all goes well, you get to the offer and negotiation part.
