First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Xylem.
Outside Sales Representative
First, there was a phone screen, and then I went to an interview at their local facility. The corporate recruiter asked me to fill out an employment application, which asked for all the same information that's on my resume. I wouldn't recommend filling it out unless you pass the first interview because it's really long, and there should be a way for Xylem to import that information from your resume. I never got a returned call or response to my follow-up email. It was very unprofessional for such a large company. I would suggest not wasting your time by even contacting Xylem.
- Can you tell me about your past job history?
- What experience do you have working with pumps?
Inside Sales Representative
It was a pretty intense interview. I talked with the VP and my future manager. They gave me some math problems to solve right then and there with just a pen and paper.
- Why are you interested in our company?
- Can you solve these math problems for me?
Sales
Applied online through a posting. Had a quick phone interview. Then went for an in-person interview at their office. A final short phone interview was done with the VP who is in a different state. Got the offer weeks after. The whole process took a really long time.
- What motivates your interest in this role?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
