Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Xylem.
Design Engineer
I had a personal interaction first, and then a technical interview. I didn't get an offer, and I suspect it's because I might not have enough experience in the relevant field they were looking for. The environment was good, the staff was friendly, and the interviewers were supportive. Overall, it was a good experience.
- Can you tell me about Engineering Drawings?
- What are the functions and types of pumps?
Engineer
It was a pretty straightforward interview process: a phone screening, then a meeting with the manager, followed by an in-person interview. The downside was the lack of urgency and communication. After the final interview, I was told I'd hear back in a week, but it was radio silence. I reached out and was informed by talent acquisition that the manager was supposed to have a meeting that week, which was already two weeks after my last interview. It's now been three weeks and still no word. It shouldn't take this long to get a rejection or an offer. Oh, and I almost forgot, I was ghosted for my phone screening and they didn't reach out until a week later.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your previous experiences?
Senior Design Engineer
I had 3 rounds. The first one was general, focusing on my design background and attitude. Then there was a technical round, followed by a meeting with Technical Directors and the HR head. Finally, I got an offer.
- Can you tell me about your previous roles?
- How do you prioritize and respond to your counterpart when they need an answer?
- Tell me about your experience with wind-chill.
