First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Xtime by Cox Automotive.
Performance Consultant
I went through a few phone interviews with a recruiter from Cox in ATL. It was mostly to get a sense of my experience, nothing too tough. Then I had two interviews with my direct manager, one by phone and one on Skype. They asked some situational questions like 'what would you do in this scenario?' which should be easy if you have retail automotive experience. The really intense part was the background check and employment verification. You need to make sure all your dates and contact info are spot on. They just confirm your dates of employment and that you worked there. That's all they can legally do, so no stress there. They even wanted a copy of my High School Diploma! (A third party handles the background checks for them.)
- How would you handle a situation where a service manager you're working with has low utilization rates in their store and isn't holding their staff accountable?
Analyst
I submitted my resume on their website and then got an email asking about a good time for a phone call. I passed the phone call with a senior manager. Then, I was invited for an onsite interview where I got a tour and spoke with about 4 directors. I think I did pretty well with 3 out of the 4.
- Can you tell me about your work background and previous experiences?
- Please provide specific details about your experiences.
- Could you include numbers to illustrate your accomplishments?
Project Manager
It was a full day of interviews all on site. I started by talking with a PM and some directors. They all asked me about my previous experience managing customers and projects, and how I dealt with tough customer situations. The last interview was with a VP, who wanted to know about my technical knowledge, like software development methods. He told me I wasn't a good fit because the job needed software development experience.
- Can you share your experience in software development?
Sales Director
The interview process was pretty average. First I talked to management on the phone, and then we set up a live, face-to-face interview in Redwood City. I flew out, met with management, got the offer, and then walked around to meet more of the team in the corporate office.
- Tell me why you are the ideal candidate for this role.
