First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at XSELL Technologies.
Data Scientist
I submitted my application online. A recruiter, who I hadn't been in contact with before, called me for an initial phone screen, which was a bit unexpected since I wasn't notified beforehand. The call itself went really well. After that, I had to complete a recruiter screen. I had to push hard for any updates, and in the end, I was ghosted. Honestly, the whole experience felt pretty unprofessional.
- Could you describe your experience with different technologies?
- What are your expectations regarding compensation?
Data Annotation Specialist
The interview process was smooth and punctual, with a low-pressure atmosphere. The interviewer, Mike, was approachable and easy to talk to. He was accommodating regarding my student schedule and the possibility of remote work, which was also available even before COVID. The company works with reputable clients, and the role demands strong typing and customer service abilities.
- Can you describe your current schedule?
- Could you tell me about your availability?
- What does your typical weekly schedule look like?
HR Manager
I had an initial screening for a role, and then was scheduled for an interview with an executive. However, the executive canceled the interview and I was told I would be contacted about rescheduling. It took a couple of weeks to get an update, and I was informed there were no updates regarding rescheduling but that I would hear back soon. This happened a few more times before they posted a different HR role. I only found out I wasn't being considered when I reached out to inquire. This process wasted over a month of my time. This lack of communication, disregard for candidates, and poor planning in defining the correct role initially suggests a need for a more Senior HR Professional to manage the recruitment process rather than a more junior one. A company's culture is reflected from the very first interaction with a candidate. External candidate experiences, like mine, and internal employee feedback are both indicating the same issues to leadership. I understand not being the best fit for a role, but this situation shows the company's disorganization and poor decision-making regarding who is leading this specific process. The reviews from external candidates and internal personnel are all telling the same thing to the leadership of this company.

The interview process was very smooth and conversational. The manager who interviewed me was easygoing and the interview was not intimidating. It was a positive environment and the questions were basic interview questions and questions about my prior experiences.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- What is your vision for yourself in the next five years?
