Case Presentation Behavioral

The recruiter call was good, then I met the hiring manager and moved on to a case study. The panel interview turned out to be just the hiring manager and the meeting was recorded. I guess other people interviewing got the full panel experience with live presentation and Q&A. My feedback was that my solution wasn't detailed enough, which is fair, but it's weak feedback when you ask if the presenter wants more detail. I had a post-interview chat with the internal recruiter and shared my thoughts.

It was a pretty long interview process with 4 different interviews. The first one was super casual, the second was with some co-workers, the third was with HR over the phone from Melbourne, and the fourth was with my future manager in San Francisco. Everyone I met was really friendly, and even though it took a while, I actually enjoyed it. The teams seemed genuinely interested in me as a person and made an effort to highlight the awesome vibe at Xero. They really emphasized the open communication culture, mentioning that 'everyone can send an email directly to the CEO'.

Behavioral Technical

I had two job interviews with Xero last year. The first one started with a phone screen by HR, followed by an on-site interview with team members. It was generally a good experience, and even though I didn't get the job, they gave me helpful feedback. The second interview was with a different HR person, who seemed more senior based on her title. However, I felt she was just going through the motions and wasn't genuinely interested. She couldn't even answer basic questions about who the role reports to or the team structure.
