Product Designer
It was an initial phone screening. Compared to other phone screenings, the recruiter had a neutral, unfriendly tone of voice and didn't seem to smile or make small talk it was just reading a standard script and asking the usual questions. It made me uncomfortable and left me with the feeling of having failed the interview despite the fact I met most of the job requirements. There were also some awkward silences after I had clearly finished speaking and it wasn't clear if she was listening or typing or waiting for me to give more detail.
- Can you discuss a project you were involved in?
Product Designer
It was a good process, challenging but they also talked about the cool things they have going on. The managers were open and honest about their own struggles too, which was nice before I got the offer.
- Can you share an instance where you influenced others to recognize the importance of UX?
Product Designer
It was a really long interview process, took about six weeks and three rounds in total. After finishing all three rounds, the feedback I got was super vague and honestly a bit disappointing. They said 'Exceptional work, but some candidates were stronger in some of their answers.' When I asked for more specifics on which questions and answers were the issue, they just said 'I don't know'. Kind of funny, really. It feels worse to pretend you have values and not actually have them.
- What can you tell me about your past work?
- How do you approach working with a team?
