Personnel Security Specialist
I had a phone interview that was pretty short, only about 10 minutes. It wasn't structured, which was actually good for me since it was my first civilian interview after being in the military. The person I spoke with, Carrie, told me a bit about the company and shared some about their own experience there. It was a really positive and professional call.
- Could you share some of your experience in personnel security?
- Were you considering a federal role at some point?
Consultant
The first interview stage went really well, and the hiring staff seemed very enthusiastic about my application. However, they subsequently became unresponsive. My attempts to get a status update via phone calls went unanswered, and I have no information on whether the position has been filled. I found this to be unprofessional behavior from the company. While I recognize that some government clients may have specific hiring preferences, the contractor could have at least informed me that the role was no longer available.

Software Developer
I was contacted by their recruiter for a developer role. The process began with two or three calls with the recruiter, then a phone interview, and finally an onsite interview. The onsite interview started with a job and company overview. Then, we discussed past experiences and how I've overcome challenges. I noticed some inconsistencies between what the recruiter and the interviewer said about the project and the company, which made me feel they weren't being entirely transparent. Overall, it wasn't the best vibe.
- How would you handle a situation where a demanding stakeholder is unwilling to compromise on their expectations?
Sales
I was referred and went through a phone screen, followed by an in-person interview. The questions really dug into my background and past experience. The interview was positive and thought-provoking. A lot of focus was put on my past track record of successful sales, client relationships, and ability to close deals.
- Can you tell me about your core values?
