Sales
It was tough, but I felt they really knew what mattered for this kind of position. It also seemed like they were really into community service with their Do Good Foundation. All in all, it was one of the more professional interview experiences I've had.
- Were the questions heavily deal related?
- How was your situational awareness?
- What was your process focus?
Enterprise Sales
I got a recruiter call about a month after I applied, which was fine due to the holidays. However, talking with the recruiter and the 'regional VPs' (basically sales managers with fancy titles) was kind of a letdown. They're planning to consolidate their sales team, which makes me think the C-suite has a pretty basic view of sales. But, given the company's name, InsideSales.com, keeping an eye on their sales staff makes sense. I decided not to move forward because of too many red flags for someone with my experience. They've got a lot of funding, and if you're young and looking for a few years in sales, or if you like being closely monitored, this could be a good spot. But if you're experienced and don't want or need micromanagement, this isn't it. It's a classic Utah startup vibe, even though they've been around for over a decade. Lots of hype, maybe good for a couple of years for someone else.

Sales
Covid interviews happened. I met with 3 people and ended up speaking with an executive. Red flag #1: HR offered me the position. Red flag #2: HR offered me the package. Red flag #3: The VP called me about my questions, not my Director. I accepted the offer and was discussing relocation when the VP ghosted me after two discussions. Reflecting on it, I was excited because I know the space well, but the interviewers seemed to get worse as we went on. For example, one guy was interviewed from an unmade bed wearing a stained t-shirt. After 3 weeks of no contact, I rescinded my acceptance.
- Tell me about your experience managing teams.
- Can you describe your past job experience?
