Machine Learning Engineer
I got a LinkedIn message from a recruiter who then set up an initial phone call with a project manager. We talked about my work, resume, and some technical questions, but no coding was involved. The video call lasted about an hour, and the interviewer asked me some hypothetical questions about how to solve a particular problem. I suggested a few solutions, and we dug deep into one, discussing its pros and cons. After a few days, I asked my recruiter about the status but never heard back from anyone at Twitter. Such a waste of time. Very unprofessional of them to ghost me and not reply with any feedback.
- How would you go about encoding a tweet?
Machine Learning Engineer
I had a call with a recruiter who immediately set up a VC with one of the managers at SF. The screening with the manager was a very good experience overall. Then I was set up a coding and ML interview which didn’t go that well. The interviewer was in an overall bad mood and lost patience in the middle of the interview. Didn’t let me finish the tasks before pointing out mistakes and in general it was a person very narrow-minded. In general, I would suggest Twitter to pick up interviewers who are happy with their current position and that won’t be biased towards candidates.

- Complete a coding task.
Machine Learning Engineer
The interview process was a bit different than usual for big tech companies. First, I spoke with the hiring manager after the initial recruiter contact. Then, I had a technical interview with two interviewers. Unfortunately, I received a rejection letter from the recruiter shortly after.
- Performed a basic coding exercise.
- Completed a basic machine learning exercise.
