Software Engineer
Had a 30-min call with HR about the job details and salary expectations. Then, a 1-hour phone screen with a dev manager where I had to solve a non-algorithmic technical problem on Coderpad using a language I like. They flew me out for a 4-hour on-site which included meetings with two other dev managers, two product managers, the VP of engineering, and HR. Most of it was behavioral, but there was also a 1-hour systems design problem on a whiteboard. The whole thing felt really friendly and relaxed. I didn't get an offer, but they did call me with specific feedback, which was really rare and helpful for my next interviews.

Paid Search Marketing Manager
The interview process was good overall, starting with an HR phone screen, then a hiring manager phone interview, followed by an in-person interview and a Skype presentation. There was a bit of a slow period between the hiring manager interview and the in-person, about a week and a half, which made me think they weren't interested. But it was pleasant, and everyone seemed to enjoy working there. It was a thorough process, and I could tell it would be a great learning experience with a fantastic work culture. The downside was the long wait to hear back at one point, leading to a rushed feeling at the end because I had other offers on the table. On the plus side, everyone was really nice, the company seems great, and their offer was competitive. They also seemed to value my time, unlike other companies. I declined their offer because I got a better one for a marketing analytics role, which is what I'm more into.

Marketing
I'm going to chalk it up to growing pains, particularly post-major investment after years of impressive bootstrapping, but -- my oh my -- the SF-based satellite office was an utter mess. I understand the challenges of the office's infancy as a non-HQ hub, but, operationally, it was truly scary, almost laughable. No company with this amount of qualified milestones, proven sustainability, revenues, and funding behind it should be so sloppy in its execution. The concept of "best practices" certainly did not apply AT ALL; and if the leadership doesn't do something quickly, then I fear the company's failed attempt at a first impression in SF and Silicon Valley will haunt it for some time.
- I did most of the questioning, which isn't necessarily a negative. But it did give me pause.
Customer Support Representative
I applied online and a day later, I was asked to set up a phone interview. Two days after that, I was invited to come in and meet with their management team. I was excited because the process was moving very fast. I met them at their office in Bucktown and had a meeting with 4 members of their management team. They kept the interview casual but still professional. They asked some interesting questions that made it engaging. They seem to work hard and genuinely enjoy their colleagues. It really seems like a great place to work.
