I interviewed with HR, the Hiring Manager, and then had a final interview with the CEO. I never heard back about a decision or received any feedback, even after following up. This experience made me think twice about working here, as it seems they don't value the interview or employee experience. The CEO interview, which was supposed to be about "culture fit," actually focused heavily on my skills and past experience, with no culture-related questions. When I asked about his vision and company/role goals, he was dismissive, suggesting I could figure it out from the job description, and seemed disengaged. This whole experience was off-putting, and I would have declined an offer anyway. The hiring process seems like a joke and doesn't reflect well on the company's future, especially considering past negative reviews.

I had a phone screen with a senior dev where I was asked basic web development questions, like about http verbs and the process of searching google.com. After that, I went for an onsite interview with four people. During the onsite, I was asked two technical questions and we discussed various tech topics like comparing frontend frameworks. The interviewers were really nice. I got an offer right after the onsite. The recruiter was very pushy about accepting the offer, which was uncomfortable, but I still consider it a positive experience because of the interviewers.

I was contacted by an external head hunter who screened me over the phone. Then I met with people from Offerpop on two separate occasions over about 3 weeks. The questions weren't too hard, but they didn't give me the job, likely because of my salary expectations. It seemed like a typical startup, where young employees who started early got promoted to management roles without prior management experience. The office felt like a college dorm with lots of recent grads, and it was clear that a few experienced people were running things while the younger staff did simple tasks. Everyone I talked to was really nice, though. Ironically, I now use their product as a customer and can see why the company struggles; they need experienced leaders to improve their products and manage people better. Cutting costs on hiring hurts product quality and innovation.

Technical Presentation

I applied and heard back in about 2 days. The first part was a call with standard questions and also some about Wyng's platform, so definitely study that. Then there were like 2 questions about technical marketing, which I found tough since it's not my strong suit. After that, I moved to the final round where I got a task to create a marketing pitch for a product. About a week later, I got an email saying I didn't get the job.
