The process was long, but I did meet some nice people. I got ZERO feedback though. It took me about 4 zoom interviews spread over 3-4 weeks, which is a ridiculous amount of disrespect in this day and age, to not get any feedback. I guess I dodged a bullet because it seems like they have a lack of accountability and don't respect people's time.

The interviews felt rushed, like they were trying to get through as many candidates as possible. The first two interviews are only 30 minutes, so you have to talk fast. It's a startup that's only been around for 4 years. Their most senior Project Manager has only been there for 7 months, which really says something about their turnover rate. They work with a range of clients, from those completely new to the cannabis business to large corporations. Currently, each PM is managing 30 to 35 projects, but they expect this number to drop as they hire more PMs. They have a strict no work from home policy, only allowing it in emergencies. It's generally an 8 to 5 or 9 to 6 job, but because they're growing so quickly, they expect their PMs to work 10-13 hours a day. So, if you're looking for a flexible schedule or a typical 8-hour workday, this probably isn't the right fit.

This interview process was a bit different from what I'm used to. Looking back at reviews, I'm actually okay I didn't get the offer. They kept saying I had the perfect skills, but they didn't seem very eager to hire me. It started with a call with HR and then the hiring manager, who was late and seemed to have forgotten about our meeting. The HR person then set up an on-site interview. I wasn't ready for how long it would be or how many people I'd meet. Most interviewers were late, some really seemed like I was bothering them, while others were nice. It took ages to hear back after the interviews. They said I was a great fit but then seemed surprised I'd taken another job for more money, given they took weeks to get back to me. Wurk didn't seem prepared. They didn't realize my field is in high demand, especially with my experience, or what the typical salary and benefits are. Their final offer was way lower than a competitor's. None of the interviewers seemed prepared, some didn't even have my resume or review it beforehand. The office felt kind of chaotic when they showed me around.

I got contacted by a recruiter from an agency for this role even though I wasn't looking. They wanted me to do several interviews, but then told me they didn't have the budget for a senior marketer and would restart their search for someone more junior. Wurk then came back and said it was an error and they wanted to talk about the role again, even calling me a top candidate. I was open to it and agreed to rejoin the search. The CEO talked to me about compensation and told the recruiter we could work something out. Surprisingly, my interview with the new CFO was cancelled 5 minutes before it was supposed to happen (the old CFO left during this process). He didn't even have the decency to tell me he wasn't coming. He emailed the agency recruiter while I was waiting on Zoom. The CEO didn't reach out with any explanation or apology. This company clearly has issues. It was a terrible candidate experience, especially for an HR Tech company! I can't imagine what it's like working there after all this.
