First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wunderman.
Account Executive
I was contacted by HR days after applying through the website. First, there was a brief phone interview with an HR associate. Then, a longer second phone interview with the HR director. After that, a third interview. Then I had an in-person meeting with the manager. This was followed by fourth, fifth, and sixth interviews, which consisted of meeting with directors and VPs. This all happened in one day, which is good because it allows you to understand the company culture and see other roles. Finally, I received an offer letter.
- Can you tell us about your most recent role?
Account Executive
I applied on Indeed and got a phone screen. Because I wasn't local, I had a phone interview with two team members. Then, I was asked to come in person. I drove 4 hours for a 45-minute interview with two of the people I already talked to. One person asked questions focused on my presumed negative traits due to being a Millennial. They didn't reimburse travel. I had to chase HR for the rejection and found out there was another role. After weeks, I had a phone interview with the account lead, expecting feedback that afternoon. HR hadn't spoken to the lead yet and promised to update me. I emailed and called HR for weeks with no response or closure. Then, they said there was another role on another team. After several weeks, I had a phone interview with the account lead, expecting feedback that afternoon. However, when I spoke to HR, she hadn't talked to the account lead yet and ensured me she would contact me ASAP with feedback. After weeks of trying to reach HR via email and phone, I got no response or closure.
- What's your expected timeline for a promotion?
Senior Account Executive
The interview process at Wunderman's DC office was really professional, pleasant, and well-communicated. It started with Liz and Michelle helping me get set up for a bigger in-person interview with the team. I ended up meeting with 6 employees over 2.5 hours, with half-hour slots with 1-2 people at a time. They were from different levels and client teams within the accounts/client services division. It was a great way to get a feel for the different types of work, how the teams are structured, the company culture, and learning opportunities. The 2.5 hours actually went by super fast!
