The hiring process moved quickly, which I liked. They were upfront about the demands of the role and the company culture, which is great. I can tell their hearts are in the right place and they're invested in employee development. However, the salary discussion was a downside. They insisted I reveal my current salary, which was a first for me and quite annoying. Then, they offered me the exact same amount I'm making now, for significantly more responsibility. It felt a bit dismissive, even if not intended. I also felt a moment of subtle undermining, where it seemed they were implying I wasn't quite qualified but they'd hire me anyway, perhaps because no one else would. This perception definitely contributed to my decision not to accept the offer. It's not a tactic I've encountered before, so it struck me as unusual.

This interview experience was completely ridiculous and horrible. I read a lot of bad reviews about this company right before my interview, and one person mentioned being grilled about their resume, which is exactly what happened to me! The interviewer, Heather White, was clearly narcissistic and spent the whole time trying to nitpick and bully me about my resume. She even asked inappropriate personal questions that were none of her business. She also wrongly stated I had a gap on my resume, which is untrue. You're not supposed to go back more than 10 years on a resume, Lady! I can see why this company isn't doing well if this is how they operate. This woman acts like a bully, and I wouldn't work for her even if she paid me half a million dollars. Good luck with your life being such a nasty person with horrible energy.

So it was a really weird interview experience. First, I met with the CEO, who was super energetic and seemed really inspired. He didn't seem to have a crystal clear idea of the role, but he liked my resume. I left thinking maybe they were a bit disorganized, but it could be a good thing. Then, I didn't hear back for weeks. Suddenly, I got another email asking me to come in. When I showed up, the person I was supposed to meet wasn't expecting me, and the CEO barely remembered who I was. It was quite strange. I should have trusted my gut and not gone back the second time, but they seemed like a company that was disorganized with leadership that was passionate but kind of absentminded.

They started by asking for my portfolio and then inquired about my passion and how I handle pressure. It was a great experience working with them, and I loved the experience I got from Writer's Access.
