I had lunch with two managers. The position didn't exist for the company so they didn't really know what to ask. They said I had been recommended to them as someone who could figure out the process and get permits going. This was in 2004. That year isn't available in the dropdown. Since then, the Regulatory Specialist Position has advanced significantly so I don't think this type of interview would happen again.

I applied through the school career services and then had the interview on campus. The interview was pretty relaxed and mostly asked questions about my resume and some behavioral questions. I heard back from them two weeks after the interview.

So, first, someone from HR called me for a surprise phone interview. They asked if I had time for it, and I said no, and asked to reschedule. The reason for rescheduling is that the first question HR asked was, "What do you know about WPX Energy?" Since it might have been a while since I applied, I looked up WPX online to prepare. The phone interview had questions about my qualifications, like how good I am with Microsoft Word. The in-person interview, though, was all about behavioral questions, like telling a story about a time I didn't get along with a teammate and how I handled it.

I was interviewed by two people. I was very nervous but they were very nice and that helped me to relax. The interview was pretty quick but thorough. They were also very quick to call me back and offer me the job.
