The interview process was a 1-hour phone interview, which felt like a complete waste of time. It's ridiculous that an initial interview for a position lasts this long! The recruiter spoke very slowly, spent 20 minutes talking about the company, and didn't seem to know much about the position beyond what was written down. The questions asked should have been saved for the actual interview, as an HR phone interview should just be a pre-screen, not a full interview. They need to fix their hiring practices. I decided not to move forward based on the information given during the interview. They don't offer real training for this role, even though you'd be learning all new health plans; it's just 'shadowing' the manager, which sounds like it would set you up to be stressed and overworked.

I had a phone interview with Talent Acquisition and then a panel interview with the department I would have been working in. After that, Talent Acquisition kept me updated and called to check in, and finally let me know I got the internship.

I had a phone screen with the recruiter that lasted about 49 minutes. Then I was supposed to have a second interview with the senior strategy analyst. But less than an hour before it was scheduled, the recruiter's assistant called me. She said 'something came up' and the interview needed to be rescheduled for 3 weeks later. I emailed the recruiter to ask if this was typical for WPS, and he just told me they didn't have budget to hire anyone. Apparently, the budget was cut 2 weeks prior. So, this means: 1) they knew they had no budget when I had my first interview, which was the week before. 2) they still scheduled the second interview anyway. 3) postponing the interview for 3 weeks was just an excuse because they wouldn't have had the budget regardless. 4) it's totally disrespectful of candidates' time. 5) Seriously!?

I applied online and then right away got an assessment to do. The next day, they sent me a questionnaire to fill out and send back. After that, I had a phone interview with the recruiter the very next day. Three days later, I got an offer through email and accepted it. That same day, I got the offer letter and background check info. The background check took a bit longer than I expected, so my start date got pushed back a week. Overall, it was a really smooth process. The recruiter chat felt super casual, which was nice and made me less stressed. They mentioned using the S.T.A.R. Method, so I made sure to have lots of examples ready about processes and results.
