Senior .NET Developer
It was two interviews: a phone call and then a 1:1. They asked general questions about my background as a developer, touching on front end and back end frameworks, SOA, and microservices. I also had to solve a couple of simple algorithm problems to check my skills.
- Tell me about your experience as a developer.
- What experience do you have with front end and back end frameworks?
- What is your experience with SOA?
Business Analyst
I was referred to World Ventures through a staffing firm, and it was marketed as a travel company. It is actually an MLM company selling travel packages through that sales format. I was a bit leery of the company once I read the reviews on Glassdoor. I was sent in front of a panel of 4 people, one of them never said a word. I got a strange vibe from the ones that did speak to me. They were different personality types, one frowny and angry looking and another almost overly enthusiastic. Then they explained that the role had nothing to do with travel, but was to provide system analysis on their payment/commission systems, payroll, etc. They are not an agency so they don't give any kind of discount on travel. I never heard back anything from them or from Cornerstone. After about 2 weeks I pretty much assumed I didn't get the position but even when following up with the recruiter that sent me there, I didn't get so much as a "no you didn't get the position". I keep seeing the same job posted so either no one wants to work there, no one meets their "high expectation", or its not a real job to begin with.
- Draw a house.
- On a whiteboard, draw a house as you normally would, and then make changes to it as instructed.
Development Professional
I had 3 interviews with 3 different people, and after a few weeks, I got a job offer. A few days later, HR emailed me saying I was rejected because they found a more suitable candidate. I emailed them back, and we clarified it was their mistake and the offer from the Regional European Manager was valid. It was for the Development Professional Europe role as a self-employed person. I considered the pros and cons before accepting. I emailed the hiring manager back in November 2015, followed up in December 2015, and again in January 2016. I also contacted the HR Manager via LinkedIn, but haven't heard back from anyone since. They tried to seem like the best company, but their lack of internal communication (the HR Manager didn't even know I had an offer) showed how unprofessional they were.
- What made you want to apply for this position?
Training and Development Coordinator
I was contacted by a recruiter for an interview. I had an in-person interview two days later with a leader in training and development within HR. The people I met were friendly and the interview felt more like a chat than an interrogation. I didn't get the job because they felt I lacked sufficient experience with adult learning.
- Can you describe your experience with teaching and learning for adults?
