So, I had this phone interview first with the Store Manager there, locally. She liked my background, and passed my info to the Regional Manager. Then, the Regional Manager and I had a phone interview too, and that went well. After that, she set up an in-person interview at the store that needed a GM. I met the Regional Manager at the store for that. She said I was a good fit and wanted me to interview with the current GM who was leaving and whose role I'd be taking. I then interviewed with that GM. They seemed distracted and weren't very personal or thorough, and didn't really want to answer my questions about the job. Their questions were pretty general and basic. The whole thing took about 3.5 weeks.

I'm not sure what went wrong. We had a discussion in the office about my past work and myself. The Store Manager asked me to walk around the store and identify any issues I noticed. However, I focused on offering ways I could help with the store's operations, which made things quite awkward. He mentioned he would call me back, and I waited a week before calling and leaving a message. It turned out he was no longer with the company.

You'll first chat with a local GM, then the HR Manager for the area (likely by phone). If the DM thinks it's a good idea, you might talk to another GM, and then you'll have a final sit-down with the District Manager.
