& Process

It was a pretty standard NGO hiring process. I got an email about 2-3 weeks after applying to set up a phone interview. Then I had an onsite interview with a manager. The interview questions were pretty typical, nothing tricky or like tests. A bit of a red flag was how hard it was for them to schedule the onsite, they said it was a 'chaotic' week at the national office and it ended up being about a week later than they initially said. After waiting about 3 weeks post-interview, I reached out to check on the hiring status. I got another offer a few days later and didn't hear back from them.

Three days after I applied online, HR emailed me to schedule a 1-hour Skype or in-person interview. I met with a program assistant and the director, who asked me typical first interview questions. The interviewers were nice, and it was a good experience overall. They said they'd let me know in a week if I was moving on to the next round. Although I didn't get invited back, the interviewers were friendly and professional, and I got a good impression of the company.

This role had a 2-step interview process. First, I talked with some of the program staff, who were junior, for about half an hour. Then, on another day, I met with the director of the research team. Everyone was really nice and made me feel at ease right away.

So after applying and submitting a work sample, I had an interview and then an exam where I had to use R or Python. The interview itself was pretty standard - they asked me why I was interested in the role and wanted me to talk more about the work sample I submitted.
