IT Support Specialist
It is a hard job for three time shift. Need to do more job than other simple it support. Ask some technical questions and need to do a technical test.
- Can you explain the difference between RAID 0 and RAID 1?
Reporter
First, there was a written test. Then, I had some casual conversation with my direct supervisor. After that, I met with the chief editor, who spent time trying to dissuade me from joining, talking about how the newspaper industry is declining.
- Are you aware that our compensation is not high?
- Would you be able to accept a lower salary?
Marketing Coordinator
I got referred by a friend and went in for the first interview pretty quick, like 2 days after sending my resume. The CEO interviewed me for about an hour and a half. Mostly asked about my background and work history, really drilling down on the unique parts of my resume. Then, he explained the role and the company's current transition phase, asking for my thoughts on their marketing strategy. It felt less like an interview and more like a brainstorming session at that point. The second interview was with both the president and CEO. It lasted almost an hour, with the president doing most of the asking, focusing on my marketing experience and what I could bring to the company. After that, I waited in another room while they talked for about 10 minutes. Then, the CEO came back to discuss salary. The negotiation was pretty skillful, they low-balled me subtly, and I ended up agreeing to their terms. It was a positive interview overall because they were friendly and easy to chat with, but the negotiation part was a letdown.
- What are you looking for in this role?
- What motivates your interest in marketing?
- Tell me about your background and professional experiences.
Graphic Designer
After applying online for the Graphic Designer role, I got a call from the manager about 3 days later. It seemed pretty urgent, like they needed someone to fill the position quickly. When I got there, the manager had me do a test. I had to create an advertisement for a restaurant using Adobe InDesign. They gave me some images and text to work with, and the main goal was to showcase both my technical skills and creativity. Once I finished, I had to print it out to a specific size they required. Then, the manager reviewed the ad I created and asked me some follow-up questions.
- Have you worked with print materials before and created advertisements?
