First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Workplace Options.
Business Consultant
I had an initial screening interview which I think went pretty well. They asked all the standard questions. The person I spoke with was easy to talk to, and it felt more like a chat than an interrogation. They asked about my grasp of some business terms and also went into detail about the rest of the hiring process.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
- Share a story about a time you were successful.
Tax Consultant
The hiring process is pretty simple. First, there's a standard behavioral interview over Zoom. After that, you'll have an assessment that includes situational questions and a typing test. If you pass the assessment, you'll move on to training, but you need to get your tax law certification before you can start working.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Please share an example of a time when you encountered a specific situation.
VP Account Management
It was a positive experience talking with the team, including the Regional VPs of AM, the CCO, and the CEO. The presentation of the case study went really well. However, there was a lot of waiting between interview rounds, and I had to chase for updates, though that didn't seem to be the recruiter's fault. I waited four weeks after the final interview with the CEO to find out they went with someone else. The 'final round' with the CEO was a bit misleading; he said it wasn't to assess me but for me to learn about the company. The rejection email was pretty standard, and they ghosted me when I asked for more feedback. Overall, while it started well, the lack of communication and closure was disappointing, especially given the effort I put into preparing for the case study and interviews. It's surprising they didn't consider candidate wellbeing, given their company focus.
- Can you outline your vision for the future of account management and how you'd get our team ready for it?
- Describe a time you effectively led an account management team through significant change, like a merger or strategic pivot.
Counsellor
The interview was held online via Teams. It focused on exploring my experience, accreditation, and competencies. Communication about arranging the interview and times was minimal, relying mostly on automated emails, even when I had to reschedule at short notice. This wasn't the best first impression of the organization.
- Are you open to working on weekends?
